This led me to consider another possible scenario for her strange death. While my book is essentially historical fiction, I believe that my postulated reason for her death may not be a million miles from the truth. My book is now available on Kindle - The Manner of Amy's Death by Carol Mackrodt. The end is quite startling but fits entirely with the events soon after Elizabeth's accession. I do not believe her death was an accident nor do I think she died of breast cancer which is extremely rare in the under-thirties. And I also eliminate all the usual suspects!!
